1.   A clean pressed suit with polished shoes.

2.   A white shirt with Anglican banded Episcopal collar or shirt to match the order of Prelature (rank). These colors are black, English (blue) purple, and red (scarlet). The only persons authorized to wear red are the Presiding Prelate and his cabinet.

3.   The bishop's ring, chain, and cross. All of these items are to be made from silver or gold, not from other metals. The bishop’s ring must possess a precious or semi-precious stone (i.e. amethyst or ruby). The chain carrying the cross will be a minimum of 40 inches in length and made from silver or gold (matching to the cross metal). The cross on the chain will be a Latin cross, without the body of our Lord (i.e. not a crucifix). The cross can be in the pocket when worn.

4.   A bishop must be well groomed at all times. That includes well groomed facial hair or clean shaven (as suits personal preference), manicured hands and fresh breath.

VESTMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE COLLEGE OF BISHOPS

Official Dressing:

1.   All Bishops will wear the English Purple Cassock, but the Presiding Prelate in Scarlet red.

2.   White Rochet with plain cuffs and bands to match the Chimere.

3.   Purple Chimere (worn by bishops) and Scarlet Red Chimere (worn by Presiding Prelates and staff)

4.   The cross will be solid gold or solid silver with a matching chain of 38" and a matching solid gold or solid silver ring. Precious gemstones may be used to adorn the episcopal jewelry, but not to excess.

 

Civic Dressing:

1.      Bishops will wear clean, pressed suits. In addition clean pressed shirt and polished shoes and clean socks.

2.      The cross will be solid gold or solid silver with a matching chain of 38" and a matching solid gold or solid silver ring. Precious gemstones may be used to adorn the episcopal jewelry, but not to excess. Please Note: wedding rings, school rings, and Episcopal rings are permitted.
