Principles That Guide CCOEB Leadership

CCOEB encourages members and affiliated ministries to demonstrate Christian character, responsible leadership and faithful service.

Leaders are expected to uphold Scripture, sound doctrine and Christ-centered Christian witness.

Christian leadership should reflect honesty, humility, accountability and responsible conduct.

Responsible Oversight

Oversight should encourage wisdom, order, counsel, fellowship and healthy leadership relationships.

Spiritual Accountability

Members are encouraged to remain accountable in doctrine, conduct, relationships and stewardship.

Oversight With Purpose

Strengthening Leaders Through Responsible Oversight

CCOEB oversight is intended to strengthen Christian leaders through counsel, recognition, prayer, fellowship and appropriate accountability.

The goal is to encourage healthy spiritual relationships, maturity, integrity, unity, order and excellence in Christian ministry.

Oversight should serve the wellbeing of the Church, protect ministerial integrity and help leaders fulfill their responsibilities faithfully.

Oversight Process

How Matters May Be Reviewed

When a matter requires oversight attention, CCOEB seeks to follow a careful, respectful and appropriately confidential process.

Matter Received

A concern, request or ministry matter is brought to the attention of appropriate CCOEB leadership or administration.

Initial Review

The information is reviewed to understand the nature of the matter and determine appropriate next steps.

Consultation

Where appropriate, relevant individuals may be contacted for clarification, documentation, counsel or response.

Guidance or Action

Appropriate guidance, recommendations, restoration steps or leadership action may follow according to the matter.

Commitment to Fairness and Responsible Review

CCOEB seeks to approach oversight matters with spiritual maturity, fairness, discretion, respect and biblical compassion. Oversight seeks to protect integrity, encourage accountability, provide guidance and, where appropriate, support repentance, reconciliation and restoration.

Leadership Expectations

What Responsible Christian Leadership Looks Like

Leadership within the fellowship should reflect both Christian character and responsible ministry practice.

Servant Leadership

Leaders should serve with humility, wisdom, compassion and concern for the wellbeing of those entrusted to their care.

Doctrinal Responsibility

Members should teach and lead in a manner consistent with biblical truth and Christian faith.

Moral Example

Christian leaders should demonstrate integrity, discipline, faithfulness and spiritual maturity in public and private life.
